Stories make all the difference!

When you work for the American Cancer Society, you come across many stories that end up changing the way you think about your own life. Today, I had one of those experiences. I met a woman -- about my age -- with young children and a life that seemed to be going in all the right directions until suddenly at the age of 35, her husband and father of her young children was diagnosed with kidney cancer. He died two months later. She now wants to do all she can to fight the disease so no one else needs to wear their late husbands wedding band around their neck. This is why I work for the American Cancer Society. This is why we are collecting stories to convince lawmakers to do the right thing to fully fund cancer research.
